Ooo, my 5-year-old would look so darling in this, and then her 16-month-old sister might need a matching one. Such lovely dresses. Though come to think of it, I'd probably need a gallon of Spray-n-Wash to keep them that way. ;)

Guy talk.....my husband and grandson.

Lewis ( will soon be 3) was lying on Grandfather's lap and informed Grandfather there was hair in his nose!

Grandfather, "It's not hair! Didn't you know? There are flies in my nose. You are looking at their legs."

Lewis takes another look. He sits up with one last comment. "They're dead!"

Bobbi said...

This Gran has never posted a comment anywhere before, but I am going into the unknown for a chance at one of the cutest dresses I have ever seen. By the way, in Kentucky we call them Bachelor's Buttons.

Hush little Gracie, don't look a mess,
Momma's gonna win you a cornflower dress.

The dress is so beautiful, I know you'll love it lots,

If we shall win it, you'll owe me a kiss,
And, I'll owe Amoretti for giving us such bliss.

That was fun! And, we linked to your blog.

Dear Ms. Merkle,
I was directed to your site via Veritas Press's Epistula letter, and decided to come on over. I really like your designs, and decided to enter myself in this drawing: )
I want this comment to double up as a question: I am an aspiring fashioin desinger, and just begining to sew simple things, but would like to sew my more complicated drawings I have desinged. (finally we get to the question ; ) : sooo. I was wondering if you know of a book, class, CD, DVD, person, website, or whatever comes to mind that/who would show me how to convert my drawings into patterns so that I can make them. (whew, take a breath : )
I also linked you to my site, sew (hehe) my little sisters (and myself) would benefit from this : )
Thank-you, Lillian

This is da best Fortnightly Purse ever! Bekah, your creations are utterly glorious and so inspirtational :) My mum really lemented not being able to get or having to search high and low and across the countryside for femine and modest attire for me when I was at that age when one is nolonger a toddler but neither a young lady. She would have loved to be able to purchase designs such as Amoretti's :)
Please count me in...

Oh my, just simply beautiful. We have been wanting to get our little gal's portraits done, just haven't had the time. However, if we could pop her into this sweet dress ... I'd find the time! Love the skirty, btw. Little Bit isn't really a tomboy (yet) but tends to show her diaper/diaper cover whenever wearing a dress. She loves to climb and jump and dance. And loves loves loves twirling in dresses.

Cheers,

Kiy @ RC&T

Beautiful! Our Nonie gave my five year old daughter the orange and cream dotted dress for her birthday in May - I just ordered a skirty and a bag of fabric. That $5 bag made fourth of July celebration skirts for both of my daughters, and a friend's little girl, plus matching applique tee's with pretty little birds. I also squeezed a skirt out of the dotted fabric for my 6month old to match her sister. Too fun!!!!
